London to Paris Bike Ride

I made this 316KM bike ride from London, England to Paris, France in June 2010 for another charity called Children In Crisis, which raises awareness and builds schools all around and in impoverished areas of Africa. For their very first ride we managed to raise over £100,000 and still counting!

It was a blast! Apart from the rigorous training, eating better, and getting fit, I met some of the most amazing people and experienced Europe in a whole new light, most people never get to see! It was the great outdoors on a bike, I highly recommend it, it was the ride of my life!

We are doing it again! This year, the charity that we have chosen is The Haven, a Breast Cancer Support charity based in London, England, providing full support services for survivors and their families. Our Haven Team, appropriately named Ride For The Haven are 4 amazing people that are near and dear to my heart! I, unfortunately, don’t think I’ll be able to ride as Chemotherapy ends in March, but I will be there in spirit and possibly as the Assistant Mechanic cheering them on! Please recognize and sponsor our team:

Suzanne and Pat Guerin, Nancy Weidner, Neil Weidner, and Brittan Chepak.

Thanks for sharing this post. Not only is wreittn well, it touches on an important topic. My cancer has become a chronic. It is going on three years from now and while I am not undergoing ravaging chemo, I still suffer every day from the side effects from treatment and the disease itself. I often think about others with chronic illnesses and the daily struggles they encounter everyday. I am glad you are able to celebrate your health and healing by exercising and doing the activities you love. Sending healing thoughts to your husband.

  2. I’m impressed, I have to say. Actually not often do I encounter a blog that’s each educative and entertaining, and let me inform you, you might have hit the nail on the head. Your thought is outstanding; the issue is one thing that not sufficient people are speaking intelligently about. I am very glad that I stumbled throughout this in my search for something referring to this.
