I Am Getting Ready To Go To Gay Pareeeee! Oui Oui Monsieur!

I cannot believe I am hours away from getting on a plane to go to Paris! I am so excited about having a mini vacation and getting to see Paris all by myself – I don’t think I have ever had a chance to do this EVER! And ever since Breast Cancer, The Pink Pom-Pom Project and moving back to the United States, I haven’t had much time by myself, isn’t that extraordinary?

See by Chloe Platform Shoes Spring 2012

Denise Manning Gold Wired Semi-Precious Stone Gypsy Earrings

So I have decided to go savage for the Chloe Fashion Show and wear a vintage Leopard dress I found in London years past with a chocolate tweed double breasted jacket by LK Bennett, very chic chocolate (or nude) fishnet stockings by Wolford, these gorgeous gold wired with semi precious stones gypsy earrings by my fabulously talented friend, Denise Manning. I’m finishing the look off with shoes from See by Chloe as my own little homage to a my talented friend, Clare Keller, Head Designer for Chloe! I have packed an outfit for everyday with typical French striped jackets and tops, Hermes scarves, earrings, and uncomfortable walking shoes – the pain is worth the statement! I am going to look fabulous with no one I know around me, just anonymous French people and foreign tourists! It’s going to be great!

No diapers to change, no Sippy Cups to fill and keep track of, no specialised restaurants so my children can eat! JUST ME! I plan to go to the Louvre, the Parisienne Flea Markets, shop yarn stores like Atelier de la Creation on Rue des Plantes, and generally just to get inspiration for my own store. And where better place than Paris because French people are still so very French!

Watch this space! I’ll be reporting as we get closer to the show and from the places I see!

Alex – so jealous! You must be there already … I am there next month and will be checking out the yarn store you mention (just probably not looking as wonderfully stylish as you though!). I also wanted to tell you about the Sewing Cafe in Paris – have you heard of it, if you can visit it. It is called the Sweat Shop and looks fantastic I have always wanted to see it and will do in April. It may give you some ideas for your PPP shop. Here is the web address http://www.sweatshopparis.com/ENG/index.php?/news/ And the address:13, rue Lucien Sampaix
75010, Paris (nearest Metro Jaques Bonsergent). Let me know if you go there.

    Enjoy your solo-cation.

    Jane
