And The Winner Is…Carsen!

Where's My Publisher?!

We have had a traumatic week this week. Carsen was dropped by a grade, as per the suggestion from her Second Grade Teacher, and put in First. I expected as much as she has been struggling all along while we were in England. She’s a wonderful child, incredibly creative, and says some of the funniest things, but concentration is not her strong point.

So as promised after term break, her new First Grade Teacher, Ms Littrell took her in and away to start the end of the year of First Grade. She was devastated when she was told, of course, but as a Mommy, thinking fast is a prerequisite! I put a positive spin on it. I told her that this time, she’ll be the oldest in the class AND the smartest. She was so excited, First Grade sounded like she actually hit the jack pot!

And jack pot we hit! So because of her new found security and knowing how to do almost everything already in the class, she’s writing stories again. The first thing she said when she got home from her first day of First Grade, she said ‘Mommy, find me a publisher! I am writing a book! It’s called My New Car!

I almost fell over in my chair I was so proud of her! For taking everything into stride, totally unaffected, and she has even found another love of her life, his name is Evan and he’s a few months younger! Already a Cougar, huh?

Yeah, baby girl, I knew you had it in you! (That’s writing, not chasing boys!)

Good for Carson. She is among good company. All four of my babies repeated kindergarten , Charlie’s and Susan’s Bo repeated, MKs Wyatt repeated, jury’s out on little Griff, ….pretty much the whole family repeated kindergarten or some grade along the way! Best thing ever- I’ve never met a soul who regretted holding a child back! And yay for your attitude as well!!! Love Nini

Kevan repeated kindergarten. Then they sent him to a school for children with learning (severe) problems, Briarwood. Now look at him. He has kept the same job for over 20 yrs. and is the most dedicated person I have ever known. Carson has found her right spot. I also want a copy of the book.
