My Favourite Day Of Sugar Highs! Happy V-Day!

Towering Flourless Cake

Although my eldest child and I have been hugging the Porcelain God from some random stomach bug for the past 4 days, I managed to drop one child off at school to enjoy Valentine’s Day with her classmates.

Black Forest Mini Cheesecakes

Oh, what a fabulous day of a constant sugar high! I think Valentine’s Day is better than Halloween because the treats are so much yummier. I especially love the tacky Heart Boxes covered with red cellophane sold in Pharmacies, with chocolates filled with creamy strawberry or orange flavouring! Lord knows what that stuff is made of, but to have it once a year I’m certain is okay, right?!

Best are the inventive Valentine’s Day recipes that are vamped up once a year! Like Hersey’s Black Forest Mini CheesecakesChocolate Truffles, Towering Flourless Cake, The Perfect Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookies (TheBakingPan.com) and even for you young party-goers Blow Pop Martini Jell-O Shots (well, sort of V-day inspired, wink, wink)!!!!!

And then the little notes and cards, especially by your kids and friends. I especially love it when Teacher’s make an effort. As I dropped Carsen off, Shepherd’s teacher reached out and handed me one for her. It read:

Dear Shepherd,

Roses are red, Violets are blue, I’m so lucky to have a student like you!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
