YSL Tribute Sandals at Harvey Nichols

Welcome to the second Trendspotting report, focusing now on colours for Fall! I speak from experience as I, myself, just finished chemotherapy and Radiotherapy treatments in March/April and I remember getting dressed right was a tricky business especially with no body hair to speak of as most patients know. There is a silver lining though and that is you become a Blank Canvas allowing for whatever you fancy on your face, your body, your neck and head! Turn this into a positive, ladies!

One of the colours of the Fall Season is RED and designers have really gone for it! Besides it being one of my favourite colours, it is very transitional and can be worn all year round. I went on a massive internet search for some items that are in stores now by top designers to High Street shops to help encourage those to come out of their shells and really have fun with the situation!

Moncler Maya Quilted Jacket at Harvey Nichols

Remember, for Cancer patients warmth is key. This can be a bit tricky at times being that most women face menopausal symptoms during care, so hot flashes come and go quickly. Rule Number 1: Easy On, Easy Off is vital for any fashion piece you choose! Like this fabulous jacket by Moncler and it’s perfect for that! It’s short, breathable and very very RED! It’s expensive and should be considered an investment and a timeless piece. You can find this one at at Harvey

Alexander McQueen Skull Scarf at Selfridge's

Nichols for 670.00-GBP.

Hats and scarves are a must and we found the essential items from Paul Smith (55.00-GBP), North Circular (75.00-GBP) and even Alexander McQueen at Selfridge’s. I mentioned in my first Trendspotting blog (Laying It On Thick) that layering for the head is a must and Beanies (Bold Beanies) are the easiest and most practical way to layer! Cool hats, scarves, and other

accessories are essential to keep your mood playful. Apart from Claire’s accessory shops, Accessorize is one of the better shops on the High Street for

Guess' Luscious Lips Crystal Ring 65.00

quick, easy, trendy items. We found this Basketweave Red Cap (20.00-GBP) and paired it with Alexander McQueen’s Skull scarf (above, 165.00-GBP) and threw in Guess’ Luscious Lips Crystal ring (65.00-GBP) – now that’s hot!

For good measure and if you, the Cancer patient, haven’t reached this high level of flash yet, start with your own look and add

Mueslii Padded Napsack at Selfrdige's

a much needed accessory for treatments: the Napsack, the Backpack, the Mailbag – whatever you want to call it, it’s also a must have! Pack with you some essential activities for the big drip session i.e. computer, knitting, books, camera, and even beauty regime items. Although you may not be in the First Class cabin of Air France, it’s sure fun to look like it! I know because the nurses always got excited when I wore vibrant colours and a smile!

We recommend the fabulous Mueslii’s Padded bag (69.00-GBP) at

Nixon Trooper Headphones at Harvey Nichols

Selfridge’s, big enough for an Apple Air Notebook and all of the essentials. Although this story focuses on Red, there are so many fabulous colours to choose from – check out YELLOW – Yummy! Click here to view: Selfridge’s.

What goes in your new padded bag is up to you, but a fantastic nail lacquer is also a lot of fun! Try BUTTER (12.00-GBP) at Harvey Nichols is fun and fabulous to schlack on whilst waiting. Come To Bedis

FUJI Pinepix Camera at Selfridges

the best red I have seen in years! Other fun necessities are the Bobble Water Bottle (Harvey Nichol’s, 9.95-GBP), Nixon Trooper Headphones (Harvey Nichol’s, 90.00-GBP), and this fantastic FUJI Pixon camera (Selfridge’s, around 250.00-GBP) always!

DVF Kallina Jersey Wrap at Net-A-Porter

Diane Von Furstenberg (DVF) has always been about easy dressing and this season she has the quintessential wrap top that can be worn straight to Chemotherapy or an Oncology recap with flare and confidence. Her Kallina Wrap Jersey Top found at Net-A-Porter is key and timeless – certainly worth the designer price tag!

TIMEX Digital Watch - more colours at Selfridges

And what time is anyway? Are we running late yet from being so Fabulous? We need a little time machine to help us keep track of all of the medicines we need to be taking to stay alive don’t we. And what better way to than with the new TIMEX piece (60.00-GBP). If you choose only to wear one bit of red, either choose shoes or this fantastic watch – either way, it will lighten your mood and put a smile on your face!
