Nuganga Naughty, Not Here!

I know, I know, I know, I can’t make every blog about my adorable children, but I did want to mention what little man said when he woke up this morning. We spent 3 weeks in the great State of Texas and had a blast with their cousins, family and extensions thereof. Thanks Mom, I got the much needed TLC I needed and we are now in Spain for the remainder of the summer.

This is the hardest part of my summer, it happens to be night duty. Although we are in the heavenly Catalunya region of Spain, I somehow get the short end of the stick. The days are filled with swimming, basking in the sun, loads of sightseeing and going to amusement parks. However, my kids, for some odd reason, will not sleep in separate beds, when the lights go out! I have feet in my face, perpendicular bodies jabbing my waist side, and there’s always one sort of Sippy Cup springing a leak at the worst possible moment in the worst possible places! Where’s Granny when you need her?

My mother is Nuganga (pronounced New-Gann-Gah) and everyone knows and calls her that. Her husband, Terry’s name is Peepsy Cereal. No one knows how that one came about but my nickname is Neno, so go figure. Anyhow, she was my pick-me-up during that vacation and took either one, two or all three children when I needed a little break! And I know I am their mother, so that unconditional love applies to me. But they all do have a very special in their heart for their Nuganga.

Ewan woke up this morning, looked right at me and said “Nuganga, naughty, not here!”

We love and miss you Nuganga!
